Prior to working at the University of Bridgeport, Leah was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for North Carolina State University where she received her Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education with a Health Education Emphasis.  She worked with the women’s soccer and volleyball teams while helping with the gymnastics and co-ed cheerleading teams in her time at NC State.  In 2010, Leah received the Helping Hands Award from the Wolfpack athletic department. Her bachelor’s degree was earned at the University of Cincinnati in Health Promotion Education with an emphasis is Athletic Training through an accredited program.  Leah was also a cheerleader for the Bearcats during her freshman year.

 
Leah attended Solon High School in Solon, Ohio where she was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader.
