Outstanding Relief Pitching By Nick Galioto Helps Purple Knights Best Dowling, 7-4

Brookhaven, NY-The University of Bridgeport baseball team kept its ECC Tournament hopes alive on Tuesday afternoon with a 7-4 win over the Dowling College Golden Lions. With the victory, Bridgeport is now 11-20 overall and 9-16 in conference play. Dowling falls to 18-22 overall and 13-17 in the ECC.

 

Senior pitcher Nick Galioto (N. Babylon, NY) was outstanding on Tuesday picking up the win in relief firing 6.1 innings of scoreless baseball, striking out five and allowing only three hits.

 
On offense for UB, junior Gaetano Guinta (Brooklyn, NY) had three hits, and classmate Peter Barrows (Old Saybrook, CT) drove in two runs.

 

Bridgeport will be back in action at Queens (NY) College on Wednesday afternoon.
