Baseball Back In The Win Column With 11-4 Victory Over Bloomfield
Bridgeport, CT-The University
of Bridgeport baseball team got back on the winning track on Sunday
afternoon, as the Purple Knights posted an 11-4 non-conference
victory over the visiting Bloomfield College Deacons. With the
victory, UB is now 8-12 overall. With the loss, Bloomfield
falls to 6-24 overall.
Junior
Tyler
Moffatt (Colonie, NY) had three and drove in two runs,
and sophomore
Cody
Quinn (Milford, CT) recorded two hits and had three
RBIs to help lead a 15-hit Bridgeport offensive attack.
Junior right-hander
Anthony
Plomitallo (New Hyde Park, NY) picked up the win on
the mound for UB to raise his record 2-3 on the
season. Plomitallo, the starter on Sunday, allowed only four
hits and one run during his time on the mound in which he also
fanned three batters.
Bridgeport is right back in action on Monday afternoon, as the
Purple Knights return to East Coast Conference play as they
host Mercy College. Game time at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard
is set for 3:30 p.m.
