Peter Barrows And Matt Bartolomei Named Second Team All-East Region By NCBWA
Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport baseball standouts, senior outfielder Peter Barrows (Old Saybrook, Conn.) and junior relief pitcher Matt Bartolomei (Stratford, Conn.) have been selected 2011 Second Team All-East East by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA).
Both players earned First Team All-East Coast Conference honors earlier this month, and they helped the Purple Knights to a berth in the ECC Baseball Championship Tournament Finals, as well as posting a single season, school record overall mark of 31-14.
Barrows led UB with a .353 batting average this season, and Bartolomei posted a 5-4 record with eight saves and a 2.32 earned run average.
