Baseball Players Matt Ranaudo And Eric Schlitter Named 2012 Second Team Daktronics All-East Region
Seniors Helped Purple Knights Reach ECC Championship Finals
Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport baseball seniors Matt Ranaudo (Milford, Conn.) and Eric Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.) have earned places on the 2012 Daktronics Second Team All-East Region Team for their outstanding play this season. Both players were also named First Team All-East Coast Conference in 2012 and helped UB to the finals of this year's ECC Championship Tournament. The Daktronics All-East Region Team is chosen by voting conducted among sports information directors at NCAA Division II institutions that are members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate, East Coast and Northeast 10 Conferences.
Ranaudo, Bridgeport's right fielder, led the Purple Knights' with a .355 batting average this season.
Schlitter, the team's first baseman, finished as Bridgeport's leader in runs batted (26), doubles (9), triples (2) and tied for the team lead in home runs with two.
