Steve Martin Named Co-ECC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

of Bridgeport senior guard Steve Martin
(Philadelphia, PA) has been selected as the co-East Coast
Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his
outstanding play in games from February 1-7, 2010.
Martin helped the Purple Knights go 2-0 last week, take over
sole possession of first place in the ECC standings and run the
team's winning streak to eight games by averaging 15.5
points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. In
a road win at STAC, Martin scored 10 points, had six assists plus
two steals and two rebounds. In a home win over C.W. Post on
Saturday, he led all Bridgeport scorers with 21 points and added
three rebounds and three assists. On the week, he also connected on
10-of -15 shots from the floor (66.7%) and went 7-of-8 from the
free throw line.

Bridgeport is back in action on Wednesday night when UB hosts
Dowling College at 7:00 p.m.
