Goal With 30 Second Left To Play Lifts Men's Soccer To 3-2 Double OT Win At Molloy
Rockville Centre, NY-Senior Gilbert
Bayonne (Amityville, NY) scored the game-winning goal with
just 30 seconds to play in the second overtime to lift the
University of Bridgeport men's soccer team to a thrilling 3-2
comeback win over the host Molloy College Lions on Saturday
night. The win keeps UB undefeated in East Coast Conference
play at 4-0-0 and raises the team's overall record to
8-2-3. Molloy is now 4-8-1 overall and 1-4-0 in the ECC.
The Purple Knights are now also unbeaten in their last six
matches.
Bayonne's game-winner, his sixth goal of the season came
off a fine assist from senior Habib Sylla (New
Haven, CT).
Sylla sent the game into overtime when he scored his first
goal of the season off an assist from senior LeRoux
Lothian (Kingston, Jamaica) at with just under 20 minutes
to play in the second half.
Sophomore Patric Brundin (Gothenburg, Sweden)
scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season earlier the
second half off an assist from freshman Jonathan
Arisitzabel (Medellin, Colombia) to tie things up for UB
at 1-1,
The Purple Knights will look to stay undefeated in conference
play on Tuesday afternoon, as the team's next match is an ECC
affair at Mercy College.
