UB Women's Swimming # 1 Plus UB Men # 9 In Inaugural Avidasports Performance Rankings of the 2010-11 Season
Rankings Measure Team's Performance Against Past Performances & Those Of Other Programs Plus Improvement
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's swimming team is ranked number one in the nation in all Division II teams, and the UB men's swimming team checks in at number nine in the inaugural Avidasports Performance Rankings of the 2010-11 season.
The Avidasports Performance Rankings offer the media, coaches, teams, and swimming fans the most innovative and accurate rankings available of both men and women teams across the country.
The rankings measure each team's performance against their past performances and those of other programs. The focus on performance and improvement offering fans a statistical snapshot of team performance in each of the three college divisions.
The Avidasports Performance Index rates teams on two equally-weighted metrics - a team's rate of improvement over their season-best times and their overall ranking among other NCAA programs. The past weekend was the most significant of the 2010-11 collegiate season. Over 36,000 races were swum across slightly more than 100 collegiate meets. Of those swims, a remarkable 341 of 551 teams exceeded their season best times.
The Bridgeport men's and women's swimming teams will be back in action this Saturday (December 11th) at 1:00 p.m. at home against Post University.
