Bridgeport Women's Basketball Lends A Hand To Those Affected By Hurricane Sandy

Bridgeport, Conn. - This past weekend (November 10 and 11) at the season-opening 2012 UB Classic, the University of Bridgeport women's basketball team collected winter clothing and non-perishable food items to donate to people that suffered damage during Hurricane Sandy. After the donations were made, the Purple Knights sifted through everything and organized it to make it easier for the organizations to distribute quickly.  Donations were given by UB staff, fans, family members, referees and opposing team members and fans as well. The donations were brought to those directly affected in New York City, New Jersey, Long Island and Connecticut.
