Lissette La Fex Named ECAC Division II Gymnast of the Week
Centerville, Mass.-University of Bridgeport sophomore Lissette La Fex (Diamond Bar, Calif.) has been selected as the first ECAC Division II Women's Gymnast of the Week for the 2012 season.
Lissette helped lead UB to a season-opening 189.150-172.150 dual-meet win over Rhode Island College on Saturday, as she finished in the top two on all three of the events she competed on. In her first action as a member of the Purple Knights, the newcomer took first place on both the uneven bars (9.8) and balance beam (9.8), while finishing second on the floor exercise (9.7).
This week, the Bridgeport gymnastics team is in action at the University of Maryland on Friday night and at Brown University on Sunday afternoon.
