Women's Lax Drops 18-17 Non-Conference Decision To Findlay

Bridgeport, Conn.-Sophomore Allie Wiggins (Waterford, Conn.) scored six goals and junior Gabrielle Valela (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) chipped in five more goals, but it was not enough as the University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team dropped a high-scoring, see-saw, non-conference home game to the visiting University of Findlay Oiler, 18-17, on a chilly Thursday night in the Park City.  With the loss, UB's fifth one-goal defeat of the 2014 season, the Purple Knights are now 1-8 overal.  Findlay ups its overall mark to 2-5.

The Bridgeport women's lacrosse team will look to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon at home, as the Purple Knights host the Molloy College Lions in an East Coast Conference game that will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Saturday is also the team's Lax For A Cure game to help raise cancer awareness and fight the disease.
