Bridgeport Women's Soccer Stays Atop National Rankings For Third Consecutive Week
Purple Knights Head Into Key ECC Match With Dowling On Saturday At 11-0-0 Overall And 4-0-0 In Conference Play
Bridgeport, Conn.-For the third consecutive week, the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team is ranked number one in the country in the national NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Poll released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Tuesday afternoon. The Purple Knights, who are currently 11-0-0 on the season, hold on to the number one spot in the East Regional rankings for the fifth consecutive week. Three weeks ago marked the first time in history that the UB women's soccer program has reached the number one spot in the NSCAA national Top-25.
In the NSCAA national Top-25, the UB women have steadily risen throughout the season from number 17 in week one, to number seven in week two, to the number five slot in week three, to number one the last three weeks.
This week, head coach Magnus Nilerud's team returns to action at home on Saturday (October 15th) afternoon when the Purple Knights host Dowling College in an important East Coast Conference match. Game time at Knights Field is set for 3:00 p.m.
