Scottsdale, AZ– The University of
Bridgeport women's and men's swimming teams continues to star both
in the pool and in the classroom, as the UB women are number one in
the country and the Purple Knight men are number two in the nation
on the list of College Swimming Coaches Association of America
(CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams for fall 2009, the
organization announced.
The Bridgeport women averaged a 3.65 grade point average (the
highest grade point average of any Division I, II or III men's or
women's team in the entire nation) during the fall semester to take
the top spot amongst the 28 Division II women's teams who met the
minimum requirement 3.00 GPA.
The UB men, who are in their first year of varsity competition,
check in at number two in the nation with a 3.30 GPA amongst the 11
Division II men's teams who met the minimum requirement 3.00
GPA.
UB is back in action Feb. 6 when the teams travel to
compete in the East Stroudsburg Invitational.
