UB Swim Teams Continue To Shine In The Classroom
Teams Earn National Academic Honors
Scottsdale, AZ– The University of
Bridgeport women's and men's swimming teams wrapped up a successful
2009-20010 season both in the pool and in the classroom, as both
teams earned recognition by College Swimming Coaches Association of
America (CSCAA) for academic excellence for the 2010 spring
semester, the organization announced.
The Bridgeport women posted a 3.46 grade point average during the
spring semester to rank fifth amongst the Division II women's teams
who met the minimum requirement 3.00 GPA to earn Team All-Academic
Honors. This is the twelfth consecutive semester that the UB
women have received this academic honor from the CSCAA.
Bridgeport swimmers were well represented on the NCAA D II Individual All-Academic listings, as for the women, senior Alena Gorlanova (3.84), sophomores Sandra Schmitz (3.84) and Anna Kwiatkowska (3.67) plus freshman Anna Krasnowska (3.60) earned CSCAA NCAA Division II All-Academic Honors. Sophomore Patrycja Zera (3.89) earned CSCAA NCAA Division II Honorable Mention All-Academic Honors.
