Three Purple Knights Earn Weekly ECC Honors

Central Islip, NY-Three University of Bridgeport student-athletes, volleyball senior Milica Micovic (Belgrade, Serbia), men's soccer sophomore Patric Brundin (Gothenburg, Sweden) and women's cross country freshman Jennavie Orrell (Gloucester, MA), have been recognized by the East Coast Conference for their outstanding performances last week.

Micovic, a setter, earned ECC Volleyball Player of the Week honors with a top-notch all-around week that saw her team go a perfect 3-0 and raise their overall season record to 18-2. In last week's three matches, Milica averaged 2.4 kills per set with an impressive .828 attack percentage, as she had 24 kills on 29 attacks with zero errors, 8.8 assists per set, 0.20 service aces per set, 2.2 digs per set and 0.30 blocks per set in 10 sets played. She notched a double-double in UB's Friday night win over AIC with 43 assists and 12 digs.

Brundin earned ECC Men's Soccer Player of the Week accolades helping the Purple Knights to a 2-0-0 week by scoring four goals and adding one assist for a total of nine points. Patric scored two goals and had one assist in a 7-0 win over Concordia (NY) on Tuesday night and he scored two goals including the game-winner with just under 1:30 to play in an exciting 3-2 win over C.W. Post in UB's ECC opener on Saturday afternoon.

Orrell was named ECC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week after she took first place out of 26 runners in a quad meet hosted by Post University in Waterbury, CT on Wednesday afternoon. Jennavie covered the 5K course in a time of 21:54 to help the Purple Knights take first place out of the four teams in the competition.
