Women's Cross Country Takes Fifth At 2009 ECC Championship

Brookville, NY-The University of Bridgeport women's country team took fifth place out of seven teams at the 2009 East Coast Conference Cross Country Championship hosted by C.W Post University on Sunday, October 25.

 
Queens and NYIT tied for first place in the event with 50 points each.  C.W. Post was third with 63 points, Molloy fourth with 105 points, Bridgeport fifth with 130 points, St. Thomas Aquinas sixth with 140 points and Dowling seventh with 146 points.

Graduate student Sarah Santos was the top UB finisher over the 5K course with a time of 22:34.00 which put her in 19th place.

Senior Anna Zahova (Velingrad, Bulgaria) was the nect Purple Knight across the finish line in 23rd place with a time of 23:07.40.

Freshman Jennavie Orrell (Gloucester, MA) took 27th with a time of 23:28.20.
