Bobby Swann Fires A Two-Hitter Against Mercy

Bridgeport, CT-Senior left-handed pitcher Bobby Swann (Cumberland, RI) was dominant on Monday afternoon allowing only two infield singles while striking out six and allowing only one base on balls, as he led University of Bridgeport Purple Knights to a 7-0 East Coast Conference baseball win over the Mercy College Mavericks with his complete game shut out.

With the win, UB is now 9-12 overall and 7-8 in ECC play. Mercy falls to 9-18 overall and 5-10 in conference play.
 
The victory evens Swann's overall season record at 3-3.
 
Junior infielder Gaetano Giunta (Brooklyn, NY) was the hitting star for Bridgeport, as he went 3-for-5 at the plate with three runs batted in.
 
The UB baseball team will look to extend its winning streak to three games on Wednesday afternoon, when the Purple Knights host St. Thomas Aquinas College in an ECC contest. Game time at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard is set for 3:00 p.m.
