Oscar Pereiro Wins Two Events At 2012 Spanish Summer Long Course National Championships
UB Captain Take First In 50 And 100 Meter Backstroke Events

Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport men's swim team captain Oscar Pereiro, who will enter his junior season in 2012-13, took two first places at the 2012 Spanish Summer Long Course National Championships that were held in Terrassa, Spain from July 25 through 27.
Pereiro won the 50-meter Backstroke in a time of 25.36 which broke his own national record set in 2011 of 25.79. He also took first place in the 100-meter Backstroke with a time of 56.08.

Oscar set an NCAA Division II men's record in winning the 100-yard Backstroke at the 2012 NCAA National Championship in a time of 46.99.
