Two-Time National Champion Gymnastics Team To Be Recognized By Bridgeport City Council

Bridgeport, CT-The 2010 USA Gymnastics Collegiate Team National Champion, University of Bridgeport Purple Knights, will be honored by the City of Bridgeport City Council on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. The team will be recognized by the City Council with a special citation prior to its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 45 Lyon Terrace in Bridgeport.

The Purple Knights won the school's second consecutive national championship in the sport of gymnastics on Friday, April 16, 2010 in Denton, Texas. This season, Bridgeport also won the ECAC Division II Team Title and earned 15 All-American honors in individual events at the 2010 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships.
