Bridgeport Gymnastics And Softball Squads Shine In The Classroom
Both Teams Receive Recognition From Their Respective Coaches' Associations
Bridgeport, Conn.-Along with their outstanding performances in competitions and on the field during the 2022-23 academic year, the University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics and softball team have received recognition for their outstanding performances in the classroom last year from their respective coaches' associations.
Thirteen members of the UB gymnastics team have been named Scholastic All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) for 2022-23. The WCGA announced the awards Thursday.
In order to qualify for the WCGA Scholastic All-America Award, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher overall or for the academic year.

Additionally, Bridgeport's team GPA of 3.5220 placed 53rd in the nation.
From the softball diamond, fourteen UB student-athletes were recognized with National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Individual Scholar-Athlete Awards for 2022-23 posting at least a 3.50 grade point average.
