Gabby Simms Selected As The CACC Softball Player Of the Week
Batted .500 With 10 Runs Batted In During The Purple Knights Week In Florida
New Haven, Conn.-Graduate student outfielder Gabby Simms (Phoenixville, Pa.) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Softball Player of the Week for her outstanding play during the week of February 27 through March 5, 2023, as the Purple Knights closed out their annual Spring Trip to Florida.
In 10 games in the Sunshine State, Simms was red-hot at the plate batting .500 (14-of-28), and she also slugged .607 and produced and on-base percentage of .559.
During the week, Gabby also drove in 10 runs and scored eight for UB, plus she added a pair of stolen bases.
The University of Bridgeport softball team is slated to return to action on Thursday, March 16, when the Purple Knights open their 2023 home schedule with a 2:30 p.m. non-conference doubleheader against Southern New Hampshire University.
