Senior Stephanie McBride Named CACC Women's Basketball Defensive Player Of The Week
Grabbed 14 Rebounds And Blocked Three Shots In UB's Win At St. Thomas Aquinas On Monday
New Haven, Conn.-University of Bridgeport senior women's basketball standout Stephanie McBride (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding play in games that took place from December 12 through 19, 2022.
In UB's only game last week, McBride helped the Purple Knights to a 70-60 road win over St. Thomas Aquinas by grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds (12 on defense) with three blocked shots and one steal. She also finished with a double-double in the contest, as she also scored 11 points.
Teammate Amani Melendez (Woodbridge, Va.) earned a spot on this week's CACC women's basketball Honor Roll, as she 21 points in the Bridgeport win over STAC, 14 of which coming in the fourth quarter.
The UB women's basketball team will return to the court following the Holiday Break on Thursday, December 29 when the squad travels to Jersey City, N.J. to take on Alliance University.
