Volleyball's Jessen and Drollinger Nab CACC Weekly Awards

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After helping the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team to a pair of wins last week, Hailey Jessen and Jaden Drollinger each earned CACC weekly awards on Monday. Jessen was named the conference's Player of the Week while Drollinger was tabbed as the CACC Setter of the Week.
Jessen was outstanding during a pair of four-set victories last week. She piled up a team-high 36 kills (4.50/set) while finishing with a .295 hitting percentage. Jessen's top performance came during Bridgeport's triumph over Post when she registered a season-high 19 kills. The Colorado native now ranks eighth in the CACC in kills per set (3.11) this season.
Drollinger, who earns a conference weekly award for the 14th time in her career, also helped Bridgeport to a pair of wins last week. She began the stretch with 51 assists in a 3-1 triumph over Post before dishing out 40 more assists in a 3-1 win over Felician. Drollinger also finished the 2-0 stretch with eight kills, 15 digs and six aces. The Arizona native continues to lead the CACC in assists per set (10.1) this season.
Jessen, Drollinger and the rest of the UB volleyball team will return to action tomorrow night in the CACC Quarterfinals. The Purple Knights host third-seeded Jefferson inside Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
