Hester and Cisse Named UB's Purple Knights of the Week (Feb. 3-9)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of more superb performances on the hardwood, Aliou Cisse and Shakira Hester of the University of Bridgeport's basketball teams have been selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Feb. 9.
Cisse, who is currently ranked second in the CACC in scoring (20.3 ppg) this season, was sensational in a pair of wins for UB last week. The junior went 17-for-29 (58.6%) from the field en route to averaging 22.0 points per game. Cisse was especially impressive against Bloomfield when he piled up 30 points, 11 rebounds and four steals in an overtime victory.
Hester was equally terrific during a 1-1 stretch for the Purple Knights. The graduate forward put forth averages of 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting an impressive 70-percent from the floor (16-for-23). She capped off her week with a career-high 23 points in a three-point loss to 20th-ranked Holy Family on Saturday. She also added three steals versus the Tigers.
