Burawski and Rodrigues Announced as UB's Purple Knights of the Week (April 21-27)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following excellent outings on the diamond last week, Kaite Burawski of the University of Bridgeport's softball team and Jeremy Rodrigues of the baseball squad have been announced as UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending April 27.

Burawski notched a pair of dominant efforts in the circle for Bridgeport last week. The graduate student allowed just one run across 14.0 innings of action in victories over Jefferson and New Haven to wrap up the regular season. She finished the stretch with 11 strikeouts while yielding a total of just four hits. Burawski, who was named the CACC's Pitcher of the Year earlier this week, is now 18-4 with a 1.74 ERA across 144.2 innings of work.

Rodrigues also strung together a superb set of games for the Purple Knights last week. The senior captain went 8-for-21 (.381) at the dish with 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored in six games played. He also walked three times and had 15 total bases. Rodrigues launched his ninth and 10^th home runs of the season as well to finish his career with a program record 26 long balls. Fittingly, Rodrigues registered a 4-for-6 effort with five RBIs during UB's Senior Day sweep of Bloomfield on Sunday.
