Oudin and Akgul Tabbed as UB's Purple Knights of the Week (Sept. 15-21)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following standout efforts in a trio of victories last week, Chloe Oudin of the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team and Kaanturk Akgul of the men's soccer squad have been tabbed as UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Sept. 21.

Oudin delivered a clutch performance to lead the Purple Knights to a 2-1 victory over Georgian Court on Saturday, keeping UB unbeaten in CACC play (2-0). Oudin opened the scoring just four minutes into the match to give Bridgeport an early advantage. After Georgian Court leveled the contest, she struck again in the 76th minute with the game-winning goal. Her first-career brace powered Bridgeport to its second straight conference win.

Akgul tallied a goal and two assists in a productive week for the UB men's soccer squad, which went 1-1. The senior set up UB's lone score in a tight midweek battle at No. 6 SNHU before contributing both a goal and an assist in Saturday's commanding 8-1 victory over Georgian Court. Akgul now leads the Purple Knights with eight points on the season, collecting three goals and two assists.
