BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After a highly successful fall in the Park City highlighted by multiple conference championships, the University of Bridgeport is well-positioned in the CACC's 2025–26 Restaino Cup standings. The Purple Knights' men's programs rank second, and the women's teams check in at third.
The Restaino Cup is handed out based on institutions' performances across all CACC championship sports, with one Cup awarded for each gender. The point system used considers each program's finish in both the 2025-26 regular-season standings and conference championship tournaments. Each school's point total is compared to the number of points it was possible for it to earn, and the standings are based on that percentage.
On the men's side, the Purple Knights were propelled by a standout men's soccer season that included a second-place regular-season finish and a thrilling 4–3 victory over Post to capture the CACC Tournament title.
Graduate student Enzo Beatrix earned Tournament MVP honors, while teammates Ewen Le Cozic, Joao Miranda, Kristians Prieditis, Lucas Mah, and Samuel Dundas joined him on the All-Tournament Team.
Men's cross country also contributed valuable points with a sixth-place showing at the CACC Championship on Oct. 26. The Purple Knights—led by All-Conference performers Toby Middleton (2nd place) and Edoardo Vandelli (5th place)—took a significant step forward after placing ninth one year ago.
On the women's side, volleyball once again set the tone, delivering another CACC crown for Bridgeport this fall. UB entered the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the North Division before stringing together three straight tournament wins to secure its second conference title in three seasons.
Junior Hailey Jessen was named Tournament MVP following her career-high 28 kills in the five-set championship victory over Holy Family, and she was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Lucia Tomiello, Madison Mohan, and Camdyn Cieszkiewicz.
Women's cross country added additional momentum with one of the program's largest year-over-year jumps in recent memory. The Purple Knights finished fourth overall—five places better than last season—highlighted by senior Julia Fortune's 13th-place finish, which earned her CACC All-Conference recognition.
