Benini and Sullivan Named UB's First Purple Knights of the Week for 2026

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following three victories at Harvey Hubbell Gym, sophomore guard Nicole Benini and junior wing Isaiah Sullivan of the University of Bridgeport's basketball teams have been selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week for their performances during the week ending Jan. 4, 2026.

Benini posted her first career double-double in Bridgeport's win over Goldey-Beacom on Saturday, finishing with 15 points and a career-best 10 rebounds. She also recorded a career-high three blocks, adding a steal and an assist in the victory. Over UB's current three-game winning streak, Benini is averaging 13.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per contest.

Sullivan was a force in Bridgeport's two games last week, averaging a team-best 19.5 points per contest in victories over Queens College and Goldey-Beacom College. He has now scored in double figures in all 12 of UB's games this season and currently ranks seventh in the CACC in scoring (16.8 ppg). In addition to his scoring efforts, Sullivan totaled 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks during the Purple Knights' 2-0 stretch.
