Richards and Echevarria Named UB's Purple Knights of the Week (March 2-8)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of top-notch performances last week, graduate students Fiona Richards (track and field) and Jaden Echevarria (baseball) have been named as UB's Purple Knights of the Week for the period ending March 8, 2026.

Richards captured the shot put title at the NEICAAA Indoor Championships this past weekend in Boston, Mass. The Jamaica' native's throw of 13.46 meters topped a field that featured 19 Division I competitors.

Echevarria went 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles during UB's 1-1 stretch last week that included a 10-8 win at USC Beaufort. He also totaled three runs scored, two RBIs and a walk.
