Perreault and Canino Selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week (April 6-12)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of sensational performances across six UB wins last week, juniors Sydnee Perreault (softball) and Luciano Canino (men's lacrosse) have earned Purple Knight of the Week honors for the period ending April 12, 2026.

Perreault turned in a dominant week at the plate for UB's softball squad, hitting .435 (10-for-23) while driving in an impressive 15 runs to help lead the Purple Knights to a 4-2 mark. She launched five home runs, added a pair of doubles, and crossed the plate nine times over the six games. Her top performance came in Saturday's 11-3 win at Jefferson, where she hammered three home runs.

Canino, meanwhile, led UB's men's lacrosse team with 12 total points during their 2-0 stretch last week. He was at his best in Saturday's 17-16 victory at Holy Family, posting a career-high 10 points on seven goals and three assists, highlighted by the decisive tally with 4:58 left in the fourth quarter. Over the two games, Canino also scooped up five ground balls and forced a pair of turnovers.
