Mike Nowak Named ECC Pitcher Of The Week
His Strong Effort In Relief Helped Purple Knights To Season-Opening Win Over Merrimack

Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport right-hander Mike Nowak (Jr., Latham, N.Y.) has been selected as this week's East Coast Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his outstanding performance in games played form February 25-March 3, 2013.
Nowak picked up the win in Bridgeport's 4-3 season-opening victory over Merrimack on Saturday, as he pitched five innings of sterling relief in which he allowed only two hits, one run which was earned, while striking out two and walking no one.
Nowak and his UB teammates are back in action on Saturday in Winter Park, Florida when the Purple Knights begin their annual Spring Trip with a contest versus Stonehill College.
