UB's Anthony Alicki Selected NCBWA East Region Pitcher Of The Week

Bridgeport, Conn.-Sophomores, designated hitter Chris Starcun (Easthampton, Mass.) from American International College and right-hander Anthony Alicki (Milford, Conn.)  from the University of Bridgeport, have been selected as this week's East Region National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for their outstanding play in games that took place from March 30 through April 5, 2015.

The Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Week, Starcun batted .647 (11-for-17) while slugging an eye-popping 1.235 and registering a .667 on-base percentage last week in four games for AIC.  The sophomore belted a pair of home runs; while adding four doubles, four runs batted in and scoring seven runs.

Alicki, the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, was dominant in a 4-0 win over Mercy in game one of a doubleheader last Friday. He worked a nine-inning, complete game shutout in which he allowed only three singles, while striking out seven and walking only two.
