Matturro Selected to CACC Baseball All-Conference Second Team

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Following a standout 2026 campaign for the University of Bridgeport's baseball team, senior Anthony Matturro earned a spot on the CACC's All-Conference Second Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday.
Matturro led the Purple Knights with 57 total hits and 21 stolen bases this season while posting a .341 batting average, a mark he elevated to .357 in conference play. He also tied for the team lead with 11 doubles and 35 runs scored, adding 26 RBIs, 22 walks and a strong .420 on-base percentage.
A consistent presence at the plate, Matturro recorded at least one hit in 35 games this season, including 17 multi-hit performances. He put together a 13-game hitting streak from March 22 through April 11 and was especially productive down the stretch, batting .384 during the month of April.
Matturro's late-season surge was highlighted by a 9-for-14 showing with three doubles in a three-game series against Chestnut Hill, along with a 2-for-5, two-RBI effort in the regular-season finale against Post and a 3-for-5 performance with an RBI in a win over Caldwell.
