Men's Basketball Picked Second In 2011-12 Preseason ECC Poll
Purple Knights Set To Open 2011-12 Campaign Versus UMass Lowell On November 12th
Central Islip, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team, under the direction head coach Mike Ruane, has been picked to finish second in this season's East Coast Conference men's basketball race in a preseason poll of conference coaches that was released on Friday morning
The Purple Knights, who posted a 19-9 overall record and advanced to title game of the ECC Championship Tournament last season, received three first place votes and 70 points. Top pick C.W. Post garnered five first place votes and received 74 points. Conference newcomer the University of the District of Columbia (65 points) and Queens (N.Y.) College (54 points) round out the 2011-12 preseason ECC Top Four for men's basketball.
The UB men's basketball team is scheduled to opens its 2011-12 season at home versus UMass Lowell Saturday, November 12th.
