Willie Williams III Named ECC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week For Second Time In Three Weeks
Scored 20 Points And Grabbed 12 Rebounds In Only 24 Minutes Played Versus UDC For His Sixth Double-Double Of 2014-15 Last Wednesday
Central Islip, N.Y.-For the second time in three weeks, University of Bridgeport senior Willie Williams III (Norwalk, Conn.) has been named the East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his outstanding play in games that took place from January 12 through 19, 2015.
Williams had perhaps his most impressive outing of the 2014-15 season last Wednesday night as he recorded his sixth double-double of the year in Bridgeport's lone action of the week, a 98-74 win over the University of the District of Columbia. In only 24 minutes played, he netted 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. Williams also had five assists, five steals and blocked one shot on the night.
The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team will be busy this week traveling to Dowling on Tuesday night and playing at Molloy on Thursday evening before a Saturday home matinee against Queens (N.Y.) College.
