Men's Basketball Moves Up One Spot in Each National Poll To Close Out Regular Season
Purple Knights Will Open Play In ECC Semifinals At 5:00 PM On Saturday In Rochester, New York
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team moved up one spot in each of the final regular season NCAA Division II national polls this week, as the Purple Knights are ranked 13 in the D2SIDA Top-25 Media Poll, and they moved to number 16 in the country in the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Top-25.
This week, head coach Mike Ruane and his team, winners of a school-record 15 straight contests and with a 24-4 overall record and with the 2017-18 East Coast Conference regular season title under their belt, will travel to Rochester, New York and the campus of Roberts Wesleyan College as the top seed in this year's East Coast Conference Championship Tournament. UB will face the winner of Wednesday's game between LIU Post and Molloy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The 2018 ECC men's title game is scheduled to tip-off at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
