Senior Bakary Camara Named ECC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week For The Third Time This Season

West Babylon, N.Y.-For the third time this season, University of Bridgeport senior standout Bakary Camara (Harlem, N.Y.) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as he helped UB go 2-0 in contests that took place from February 3 through 9, 2020.

Bakary averaged nearly a double-double last week at 18.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, plus he also averaged 5.0 assists and 4.5 steals per game. In a big win over Daemen on Friday, Camara had 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists and seven steals. He closed the week out on Sunday with 20 points, six rebounds plus three assists and two steals versus Roberts Wesleyan. Bakary also shot 57.1 from the floor on the week.

Camara has also been named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week twice this season.

This week, the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team will open a three-game road trip at the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.  The Purple Knights enter this week's play on a 15-game winning streak and with a 19-2 overall record and an 11-0 East Coast Conference mark.
