BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In a rematch of last March's CACC Championship game, which the Purple Knights won, the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team fell to Post, 75–68, on Wednesday night inside Hubbell Gym. The tight defeat puts UB's record at 3-3 this season, including a 1-1 mark in the CACC.
Despite winning the rebounding battle and outscoring Post 38–30 in the paint, the Purple Knights struggled from long range (3-for-18) and were only able to cause nine turnovers—their lowest total in a CACC game since Jan. 2023.
UB held a 46–41 edge on the glass and got production from up and down the lineup, as 16 different Purple Knights saw action and the bench contributed 24 points.
Individually speaking, Zay Sullivan paced Bridgeport with a team-high 18 points while Jason Edokpayi added 10 points, five boards and a team-high four assists.
Sullivan, who continues to lead UB in scoring this season (16.0 ppg), also chipped in four rebounds and three assists.
Shedrach Makanjuola and Jaheem Tyson both provided a spark off UB's bench, combining almost equally for 17 points and 13 boards.
The Purple Knights also received 13 second-chance points off 12 offensive boards, but could not overcome Post's hot first half (6 made threes, 51.6% shooting from the field) and timely late baskets.
UP NEXT
The Purple Knights will play at Jefferson on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. start.
