After trailing for much of the afternoon, UB surged ahead 54-53 with 6:07 remaining in the second half and later trimmed the deficit to 61-60 with 2:00 left before the Griffins responded with a decisive 7-0 run that proved to be the difference.
The Purple Knights were held to their second-lowest point total of the season but still controlled the glass with a 43-29 rebounding advantage, which marked their second-largest margin of the year.
Bridgeport also received a lift from its reserves, as the UB bench outscored Chestnut Hill, 16–7. Jaheem Tyson led the Purple Knight subs with four points, six boards and a block.
UB's duo of Isaiah Sullivan and Jason Edokpayi once again carried the offensive load on Saturday, combining for 40 of Bridgeport's 66 points.

Edokpayi narrowly missed his fifth double-double of the year (17 pts, nine rebs), finishing one rebound shy while continuing a torrid stretch that has seen him average 19.0 points and 8.7 boards over his last seven games.
John Dash Jr. added eight points to rank third on the team in scoring and also paced the Purple Knights with two steals.
