Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport freshman defender Oliver Karlsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) has been selected as the East Coast Conference's Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding play in a pair of Purple Knights shutout wins over Nyack (3-0) and Franklin Pierce (2-0) last week to open the 2015 season
Oliver and his teammates limited the opposition to only 17 total shots in the two matches.
Karlsson's teammate Luka Ivanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) earned a spot on the ECC Men's Soccer Honor Roll for his fine play last week, as he netted both goals in the win over Franklin Pierce.
