CALDWELL, N.J. – Following a resounding win in their conference opener on Saturday, the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team continued the momentum on Tuesday with a 2-0 road win at Caldwell. The victory pushes the Purple Knights to 2-3-1 overall, including a 2-0 mark in the CACC.
Graduate student Enzo Beatrix opened the scoring just 6:40 into the match, finishing a setup from Soren Larue and Samuel Dundas to give the Purple Knights an early edge. It was a long throw-in into the box from Larue that helped provide Bridgeport's first tally.
Following the early goal, UB's defense held firm throughout. Sophomore goalkeeper Viktor Mašek finished with five saves to earn UB's first shutout of the year.
It was another graduate student, Ewen Le Cozic, who sealed the win in the 83rd minute, converting a feed from Ata Akgun to double the lead.
