Cakurs and Mašek of Men's Soccer Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Fresh off helping the Purple Knights to one of their best seasons ever, senior Bruno Cakurs and sophomore Viktor Mašek of the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team have earned 2025 Academic All-District® honors from the College Sports Communicators.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District men's soccer teams, selected by the College Sports Communicators, honor the nation's top student-athletes for their excellence both in competition and in the classroom. Criteria for the awards can be found HERE.
UB Men's Soccer CSC Academic All-District Honorees:
*Bruno Cakurs | Senior Defender | GPA: 4.0 | Major: Finance
- Named CACC Defensive Player of the Year (All-Conference First Team)
- CACC's Top XVI Award Winner (highest GPA at finals site)
- Started 21 games for a UB defense that allowed 1 or fewer goals 14 times
- CSC Academic All-District honoree for second straight year
- Two-time CACC All-Academic selection
Viktor Mašek | Sophomore Goalkeeper | GPA: 3.58 | Major: Health Science
- Started 19 games for CACC Champions
- Ranked fourth in the CACC in goals-against average (1.27)
- Ranked fourth in the CACC in total saves (72)
- Tallied season-high 10 stops vs. No. 1 Seed SNHU in NCAA Tournament
*Bruno is also a denoted as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist. He advances to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
