Men's Swimming and Diving Posts Dominant Win Against Adelphi in Home Opener
Purple Knights sweep relays and earn 10 individual victories.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Competing at home for the first time this season, the University of Bridgeport's men's swimming and diving team defeated Adelphi University on Friday by a score of 197.50-93.50. The Purple Knights put together a dominant performance at the Baum Family Aquatic Center, winning 10 individual events and sweeping both relays.
Bridgeport opened strong with a victory in the 200-medley relay, as Christian Toussi, Jurica Dragun, Maximiliano Pedrozo Sevila, and William Crecca touched first in 1:43.71. Ryan Wall followed with a win in the 800-free (8:37.45), and Sultanbek Azat added two more victories in the 200-free (1:53.61) and 400-free (4:04.44).
Toussi also had a standout meet, tying for first in the 100-back (56.40) and later claiming the 100-free (52.06). Dragun, meanwhile, earned top honors in the 100-breast (1:04.01), while Ignacy Olownia swept the 200-fly (2:08.52) and 400-IM (4:37.62).
More top times included Camilo Villalba Vera taking the 50-free (24.11), and Pedrozo Sevila winning the 100-fly (57.34) to round out the individual dominance.
Bridgeport sealed its strong showing with another relay victory, as Crecca, Azat, Toussi, and Villalba Vera captured the 200-free relay in 1:35.79, completing a convincing team win over the Panthers.
