Toussi of Men's Swimming and Diving Named NE10 Rookie of the Week
Freshman from Norway owns four top times in the conference so far this season.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of two sensational meets to open the 2025-26 season, freshman Christian Toussi of the University of Bridgeport's men's swimming and diving team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week.
Toussi, who hails from Jessheim, Norway, has been a top performer for a UB team that finished second at the Fairfield Invitational on Oct. 4 and defeated Adelphi in a home dual meet on Oct. 10.
The Norwegian has racked up four individual wins so far while also helping Bridgeport to a pair of relay victories. He opened things up with triumphant swims in the 100-back (55.96) and the 100-fly (57.15) at the Fairfield Invite (SCSU, FU, Manhattan) before touching first in the 100-back (56.40) and the 100-free (52.06) against Adelphi.
Toussi also assisted the Purple Knights to a pair of relay wins against the Panthers in the 200-medley relay (1:43.71) and the 200-free relay (1:35.79).
All in all, Toussi currently owns four times that are the fastest in the NE10 this season. He has recorded those marks in the 50-back, the 50-fly, the 100-back and the 100-fly.
