Men's Swimming and Diving Stays Unbeaten With Tri-Meet Sweep at Wesleyan
Purple Knights move to 9-0 this season.
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Competing for the first time in 2026, the University of Bridgeport's men's swimming and diving team swept a tri-meet at Wesleyan University on Saturday. The Purple Knights earned triumphs over both the host Cardinals (159-37) and Wheaton College (138-63) as they remain unbeaten in dual meets this season (9-0).
UB turned in another dominant performance, piling up 10 victories with eight individual wins and a pair of relay triumphs.
Bridgeport opened the meet in style as the 400-medley relay of Christian Toussi, Jurica Dragun, Maximiliano Pedrozo Sevila and Camilo Villalba cruised to first place in 3:30.08.
Sultanbek Azat set the tone in the distance events, capturing the 1000-free in 9:19.74 before later returning to win the 500-free in 4:40.55.
Ryan Wall added a strong runner-up finish in the 1,000, touching the wall in 9:55.10.
Pacome Sidelski delivered one of the meet's top swims by winning the 200-free in 1:43.50, then followed with a second-place effort in the 500-free.
Pedrozo Sevila claimed the 200-IM with a time of 2:01.13, while Ignacy Olownia captured the 200-fly in 1:58.59.
Toussi showcased his sprint speed with a victory in the 100-free in 46.95.
Brady Stangl added another win for the Purple Knights by taking the 200-back in 1:59.50.
Dragun closed out the individual events in impressive fashion, winning the 200-breast in 2:06.58.
UB capped the meet with a victory in the 400-free relay, as Toussi, Sidelski, Azat and Villalba combined for a winning time of 3:07.82.
