Dragun and Toussi of Men's Swimming and Diving Claim NE10 Major Awards for 2025-26

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After helping the University of Bridgeport's men's swimming and diving team to their historic Northeast 10 Conference championship last month, freshmen Jurica Dragun and Christian Toussi were both officially recognized with NE10 major awards on Wednesday. Dragun was named the conference's Swimmer of the Year while Toussi was voted as the league's Rookie of the Year.
Dragun and Toussi both played pivotal roles in leading UB's men's squad to the 2026 NE10 Championship, combining for a dominant collection of individual and relay titles.
Dragun was exceptional in the breaststroke events, capturing gold in both the 200-breast (2:00.18) and the 100-breast (54.56), while also contributing to a first-place finish in the 400-free relay.
Toussi showcased his versatility with three individual conference crowns, winning the 100-free (44.92), 100-fly (49.34), and 100-back (48.90), in addition to joining Dragun on the victorious 400-free relay squad.
Following their standout performances at NE10s, both swimmers earned selections to the NCAA Division II Championships, where they continued to deliver on the national stage.
Dragun emerged as a two-time All-American, highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the 100-breast with a time of 53.14 to secure First Team All-America honors.
He followed that performance with an 11th-place showing in the 200-breast (1:58.31), earning second-team All-America distinction while tying a UB school record in the event.
Toussi also made his mark at nationals, turning in a strong swim in the 100-back where he placed 10th overall with a time of 47.57. That performance garnered Second Team All-America honors, capping an outstanding postseason for the freshman.
