Men's Swimming and Diving Posts Highest Spring GPA in Division II; Four Purple Knights Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors
UB finishes second semester with 3.77 team GPA; Azat, Dragun, Sidelski and Toussi claim Scholar All-America honors.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - After a remarkable year in the classroom, the University of Bridgeport men's swimming and diving squad has been named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2026 semester. The Purple Knights posted a stellar 3.77 team grade-point average, the highest among all NCAA Division II men's swimming and diving programs.
UB's academic success extended beyond the team honor, as four Purple Knights also earned CSCAA Scholar All-America recognition for the 2025-26 season. Christian Toussi and Jurica Dragun were selected to the First Team, while Sultanbek Azat and Pacome Sidelski garnered Second Team honors.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship.
Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met an NIC "A" time standard in Division I or an NCAA "B" qualifying standard for the national championship.
The Purple Knights' latest acknowledgement further highlights an outstanding year of academic achievement. Every member of UB's roster was named to the NE10's Spring 2026 Academic Honor Roll announced last month, while 19 student-athletes recorded semester GPAs of 3.5 or higher and eight Purple Knights earned perfect 4.0 GPAs.
In total, 714 teams representing 16,680 student-athletes earned CSCAA Scholar All-America recognition for their outstanding academic performance during the spring semester.
To qualify, each team was required to post a team cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring 2026 semester.
