Purple Knights Wrap Up Busy Weekend At Springfield College Classic

Springfield, Mass.-Freshman Janae Scott (Pennsbury, Pa.) took first place in the women's discus event at the Springfield College Classic on Saturday afternoon in Massachusetts. Scott's first place toss carried 35.78m (117-04).
Highlighting the UB men on Saturday, freshman Joshua Karyea (Nazareth, Pa.) took second in the pole vault clearing 3.40m (11-01.75) improving his mark from the previous day at Vassar.
Freshman Maxim Kruk (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) took sixth in the men's discus at 37.61m (123-04) and ninth in the shot put at 11.44m (37-06.5).
No team scores were kept on Saturday.
Up next, the UB track and field teams will open a bust week of action at UMass on Wednesday and Thursday.
