Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport softball team dropped both ends of a home East Coast Conference doubleheader on Monday afternoon against the Knights of Queens (N/Y.) College, falling in game one, 7-3, and losing the nightcap, 5-0. Game one was the completion of game that was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning on March 31. UB is now 5-17 overall and 1-7 in conference play. QC ups its overall record to 13-11, and the Knights are now 6-1 in the ECC.
In game one, UB senior Katelyn Wall (Madison, Conn.) had two hits and an RBI. Classmates Jessica Griesinger (Brewster, N.Y.) and Sydney Phillips (Sebastopol, Calif.) knocked in the other UB runs in the opener.
In game two, Bridgeport was blanked on five hits, two of which came off the bat of junior Paige Owens (Berlin, Conn.).
Next on the schedule for the UB softball team is a doubleheader at St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday afternoon.
