Philadelphia, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport softball team travelled to Philadelphia, Pa. on Sunday afternoon to close out its 2015 road schedule with a non-conference doubleheader at Holy Family University. UB lost both games to the host Tigers, falling 4-1 in the opener and 6-2 in game two. Bridgeport heads into its season finale at home on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. versus Nyack College with a 13-33 overall record. Holy Family is now 18-13 on the season.
In game one, UB did not record a hit, and the team's lone run scored when junior Paige Owens (Berlin, Conn.) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in inning number two.
In game two, the Purple Knights plated both of their runs in the seventh inning with the team's lone RBI coming from senior Jessica Griesinger (Brewster, N.Y.).
